Bubbly Funk Forum - simply the best forum

Jammie Dodgers - are there really any other biscuit?
Crafting - well naturally
the colour orange - just love it
Laughing - must have a laugh everyday :)

I pass this award onto the following for no particular reason other than I love to read your blogs and you haven't had this award before.

Hippy = http://hippyhippychic.blogspot.com/
Carol = http://kraftypieces.blogspot.com/

Kaz = http://kazscraftbits.blogspot.com/

The award states that you just fulfil the normal courtesies of contacting the giver and 5 recipients .... then list 5 things you are addicted to...easy really. But if you don't have time please just accept the award which is sent with love.

Busy, busy, busy

Look what I made last night ......
A Christmas tag. This is for the monthly challenge on the Bubbly Scrumptious Blog which is "Angels" although it finishes at the end of October so just scraped in - ooops - new challenge up on 1st November. I must try harder to get it in sooner rather than later.

Bubbly Scrumptious have daily posts with lots of brilliant ideas from some stunning women crafters. One of those clever ladies is Kaz and on Tuesday she posted these quick Christmas cards. And when she says "quick" by heck are they quick - I made these half a dozen last night. Go to Bubbly Scrumptious to see exactly how to do it.

Thanks for stopping by please come back soon!

Three more to delight?

I do hope so.

Well it's half term so more crafting is allowed - yippee! I have caught up a little with Emily's 52Q and made three more so here they are. Numbers 30, 32 and 33 - I've already blogged number 31 so if you haven't seen it you will have to trawl through my blog to find it tee hee.
I used rub ons I received free with a magazine and the image is from my trusty old Elle magazine (can you guess who it is?) and the lips on the front are MINE!!! lol

Number 32 is all about my impatience with Glossy Accents - Kaz will know what I mean and I am sure we are not alone? The inchie on the back is actually covered in Glossy Accents and I wanted to try and make it have hundreds of bubbles in it but do you know try as I might it wouldn't bubble when I wanted it too. Isn't that S*ds Law? lol

Finally for this time number 33 just messed about with acrylic dabbers and paper and tearing. The image is again from Elle magazine and the journalling page from my diary/filofax from Willow Tree Crafts.
Thank you for stopping by and have a great day. :)

Cosmo Cricket Curled Creations

Orignally an idea from Cosmo Cricket blog. I followed the clever Kathy's instructions to create these beautiful flowers from humble circles. Cut a spiral into the circle, curl up and glue and voila a cute flower.

I haven't decided what to do with mine yet as I was just practising but Kathy has crafted some stunning pieces decorated with these blooms.

pom pom pom pomander

I have been meaning to make new orange pomanders for a while and whilst out food shopping yesterday remembered and bought some more cloves. Kat wanted to have a go too so we got busy with ribbon and paperclips {very easy to stick the cloves in once you have pierced a hole with the paper clip :) }

The house now has a lovely warm spicy smell - getting near Christmas. Just need to put the pomanders in a paper bag in the airing cupboard to cure and they will be ready for Christmas.

A couple of Bubbly Funk forum friends have suggest I need a Blue Peter badge for doing this as they seem to remember it from the TV show. Do they give Blue Peter badges to 46 year old women? mmmmmm

All the leaves are brown ....

and the sky is grey hahaha well it was this morning - very wet and miserable.

I looked out of my kitchen window the other morning and saw the trees in the back field lit up with the morning sun - it looked quite stunning - the photo does not do it justice and if Kat had been awake I would have taken a photo from her bedroom which would have been better. But nevertheless I took one from downstairs.

This then inspired me to use the technique that I think it was Joanne highlighted the other week on her blog of faux batiking so I tried that with the centre tree. I then used my stickles to add sparkle. Distress inks use and a little ribbon too.

I'm a centenarian

I have broken my first century. This is my 101st post. What a lot of waffling I have done these past few months.

Thanks for coming over and reading my ramblings and leaving comments. This blogging lark is quite fun once you get the hang of it isn't it?

On me 'ed son

I don't believe it (said in a Victor Meldrew voice) a challenge completed on the first day the challenge is set ..... unheard of for me. But nevertheless I have done it!!!

The Bubbly Scrumptious weekly challenge that is. This week it is:-

This week we are getting lively hahahahaha!!!! The theme is...

PHYSICAL CULTURE!

This means that anything sporty, health related or exercise is required...luckily we don't mean you must run a marathon or jump up & down in your living room haha...well you can if you want to!

My offering is here

Distress inked background and the stamps used are all Woodware Collection "Sports". Coloured with Sakura gellyroll pens and Zebra Jimnie Gel Rollerball for the shoes.

Recycle

I have recycled Kris' school shirt buttons and my trusty old "Elle" magazine has come up trumps with the text used for the wings.

The background is distress inked and the stamp used is Lavinia Stamps fairy words one.
The photo has come out very orange the wings are actually "worn lipstick" pink.

Another quick card was needed for a party Kris went to on Friday night so I used my new Little Claire "Kittie Parcels" stamp and the letters are Banana Frog stamps. All coloured using Sakura pens and the background is distress inked. I added a fluffy ball to the top of the cats hat just for fun. :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Mooooove Over

Well with a day left of the old challenge I am showing you my offering for the Bubbly Scrumptious Sillouette Challenge.

I don't have a suitable stamp so copied this image from the internet. I was rather drawn to it and I thought it would be a suitable friend for Janice's sillouette! hahaha

The paper is Sassafras - thought it gave the cow and groovy image. What do you think?

Put the flags out!

An experimental card from me today. I wanted to use the triangles to form bunting and the aperture card too and came up with this design.
The castle stamp was a bargain purchased for 99p from The Big Stamp and Scrapbook show at Alexandra Palace last month. The company is Snag'em Stamps from their Fairest of Them All Collection.

Distress Ink Pads used were Broken China and my favourite Peeled Paint. With a bit of masking going on the produce the hills.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Two of you today

As well as the card I made for my challenge over on Bubbly Funk for World Cardmaking Day I participated in rather a rude game of Bingo in the afternoon, which I am glad to say I won, yippee! But sadly I was thrashed by the lovely Kaz and Deb in the evening's game ho hum never mind!! grrrrr lol

I also joined in the sketch challenge set by Kaz and the embossing challenge set by Joanne. My efforts can be seen below. Had I followed Joanne's excellent instructions the card would have turned out alot better, but I thought I knew better and charged off like a bull in a china shop hence the wonky lines haha.

The projects will still be on the forum for the forseeable future so do pop over and have a gander.

Thanks for leaving a comment if you have.

Bubbly Funk Cyber Crop

Today to celebrate World Card Making Day - yes it does exist hahaha Bubbly Funk are having a cyber crop all are welcome. Lots to do with challenges to join in, techniques to share and plenty of laughs along the way all rounded off with a loony game of Bingo later. (Hilarious)

I have posted a challenge. My challenge is to make a card or project which features the following items, a piece of printed text, must be in one colour, some recycled item and feature a technique you have never tried before.

So here is my offering:-

It features a piece of text I ripped from my cannibalised Elle magazine, a knotted piece of raffia I had tied round a flower from the summer and the new technique is the stamped gessoed pattern in the top right hand corner. Thanks to Kaz for this idea.

Please pop over to Bubbly Funk they are a really friendly forum and the shoppie is wonderful too.

3 is the magic number

Q31 what 3 words would someone use to describe me?

Difficult one but I would hope people would say what I wrote on the back of the tag.

:)
